WHERE HAS SUMMER GONE?

I can't believe it is time to think about winterizing boats already. Why put time and money into a boat that you may not use for months? Just ask any boat owner who did not winterize their boat....did it save them any time or money? Sit back and get comfortable as they tell you their horror story of what they had to fix or repair and HOW MUCH money it cost them before they could enjoy their boat again. It is so worth the effort now so minimize your headaches come spring.

**Always check the owner's manual for your boat and motor(s) for manufacturer's recommendation on winterization. If you don't have owner manuals below is a guideline

Motor Maintenance	Outboards	Inboards / Sterndrives
Add gas stabilizer	*	*
Check plugs, wires, rotor, cap	*	*
Check belts, adjust tension		*
Check hoses	*	*
Clean fuel screens, replace fuel filters	*	*
Check shift/throttle cables & settings	*	*
Lube shift/throttle cables & linkages	*	*
Flush cooling system	*	*
Drain block, manifold, circulating pump & coolers		*
Fill block, manifold & circulating pump with anitfreeze		*
Change gear lube	*	*
Change oil and oil filter	*	*
Check gimbal bearing		*
Grease U-joints and gimbals		*
Lube engine coupler splines		*
Check/replace sacrifical anodes	*	*
Fog Engine	*	*
Check steering & power trim fluids	*	*
Check propeller/hub	*	*
Check/lube splines	*	*
Replace water pump impeller	*	*
Spray electrical connections with moisture repellent	*	*
Spray entire engine with anticorrosion treatment	*	*
Check fuel line and bulb	*
Remove battery & recharge if necessary	*	*
